Mens’ Traditional Garment

The men’s garment consists of:

  • Cammisa“: the linen shirt with a high collar and the embroidered “punt’e nù” cuffs, characteristic Teuladin embroidery with geometric patterns;
  • Cossu“: the purple or blue velvet corset, edged with green satin. In the front it has colored buttonholes, from which hang the “buttonisi“, chain buttons in silver filigree;
  • Gipponi“: black orbace jacket worn over “su cossu“, has red cloth lapels, and green satin edgings;
  • Crazzoni“: the trousers, in black orbace, are wide and long up to under the knees and lets you see “is mudandas“, white cotton trousers, edged with lace. Both garments are fastened at the waist by a large brown leather belt;
  • Cratzas“: gaiters, in black orbace, covering the shoes;

In conclusion:

  • The characteristic headpiece, “Su Cappeddu“, in gray felt and wide pitched, inherited from the Spanish domination.
