Fine white sandy seabed

The beach of Portu Tramatzu has a shallow and sandy seabed
with crystal clear waters and iridescent colours with shades of turquoise and blue. Right in front of the beach stands out the “Isola Rossa” with its rocky profile and the typical vegetation of the Mediterranean maquis.

Near the beach of Portu Tramatzu, you can find the Site of Community Importance (SIC) called Isola Rossa and Capo Teulada.

The coast of the SIC area has high cliffs overlooking the sea which follow one another in deep inlets separated by high limestone spurs. It is characterised by the alternation of hard granite rocks and friable schist rocks where small beaches, formed by dunes of fine white sand are surrounded predominately by junipers. In the hinterland, the prevailing vegetation is a medium-low Mediterranean maquis with mainly phillyrea, mastic, cistus and juniper.
