Since ancient times embroidery in Teulada has been an old practice and a particular stitch was invented here and named punto Teulada.

Here in Teulada embroidery is a true art with its unique and characteristic su puntu de nùSu Puntu de nù or the “knot” or “curly” stitch is a typical one made with the basic stitching on the weft that creates a real knot from where perfect geometries are created and patterns that you can only admire on the plain side. On the other hand “Su puntu de brodu” is typical of female traditional costumes.

The Sardinian raw linen canvas is used for embroidery and it is strictly woven on the traditional loom.
The thread is a sort of white string. However, a more delicate modern canvas is also used, while white remains the preferred colour for the base.
