Le Dune Bianche beach

Le Dune Beach, also called Sabbie Bianche or “Is Arenas Biancas“, has incredible fine-grained white sand dunes. The sand gives the water an intense blue colour with stunning iridescent reflections.
The thirty metres dunes, just behind the beach, are covered by the typical Mediterranean scrub and juniper in the areas of farthest reach from the beach. Between this oasis of incomparable beauty and the access road, you have “Is Brebeis” pond, summer home of numerous migratory birds, including flamingos.

Nearby Sabbie Bianche Beach you have the Site of Community Importance called Promontory, dunes and wetland of Porto Pino.It includes a coastal area which extends from the peninsula of Porto Pino to Punta Cala Piombo, and it is characterised by a large sandy stride and rocky stretches of coast bordering the North and South.
Within the area, you can see the complex of ponds of Porto Pino. This is one of the rare coastal environments of the western Mediterranean where the natural vegetation of Pinus Halepensis can be studied and it is also a transit and wintering area for numerous aquatic migratory birds.
